One of our Product Designers in San Francisco, focusing on streamlining the patient experience
How do you elicit your creative side outside of Vim?
I’m an artist and design futurist aside from being a product designer at Vim. I like to work on projects that speculate plausible futures to address Anthropocene challenges, such as alternative solutions to global warming and possible impacts of new biotechnologies.
We know you are shy, but please share with us all of your awards and recognition!
My projects have been recognized by Fast Company World Changing Ideas Awards, International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), Core77 Design Awards, etc. I’ve also given talks and exhibited my work worldwide in Dutch Design Week, Toronto Design Festival, San Francisco Design Week, PRIMER Conferences, and more. I help non-profit organizations curate exhibitions and design competitions to promote emerging designers and their works.
What was the main reason you joined Vim?
People, of course! The people who are working at Vim are passionate about what they’re doing and are always ready to hit the ground running. It’s inspiring and pleasant to work in the office with this type of atmosphere.
What three adjectives would you use to describe Vim culture?
Energetic, Bold, & CREATIVE
How does your artwork relate to product design work at Vim?
It’s nice to wear and switch among many different hats as a product designer and artist. At Vim, I’m using design to solve problems and streamline user experiences. In art projects, I design future scenarios and build interactive experiences to raise questions and awareness.
What is your spirit animal and why?
Based on an online test, I’m a butterfly! Quote: “An important message carried by the spirit of the butterfly is about the ability to go through important changes with grace and lightness.” That sounds like me!
